Update on our family

It's been awhile since I last posted. We've been quite busy as on May 26, 2007 my Aunt Gloria died and before that I was spending lots of time visiting her.

Sarah is growing well, weighs 12 lbs 8 oz. She's still sleeping well 5-7 hours a night, making mommy very happy.

Sarah and I are settling into a routine for the days I'm home with her, although I am so glad to get out in the evening(I have to or I'd go crazy!). Unfortunately Sarah has thrush and a yeast rash again so we're on another round of treatment for that.

Here are some more pictures of Sarah.

More pictures of Sarah

Here are some more pictures of Sarah. She is constantly changing her looks.

The night sleeping thing is going okay, although the last few nights it's been a 4 hour stretch instead of a 6 or 7 hour stretch, which I much prefer. Other than that, things are going well.

Changing looks

Sarah is now just over 6 weeks old. And my how she has changed in looks.

She slept 5 hours last night, which was very good and even better she spent the whole night in her crib. We use a heating pad in there to warm it up before she goes in and that seems to make all the difference for her to be able to settle down.

It's hard to believe that this Mother's day I will actually be a mother. Darren's parents arrive next Thursday and they will be thrilled to see their little grand-daughter. Here's a few photos of Sarah.

One Month Old

Time is going by quickly. Sarah is now officially one month old. Another doctor visit today and she weighs 9 lbs 11 oz, which means she has gained 3 lbs since she was born. That little girl can definetly eat well.

We're going to start working on sleeping in the crib this week. It's time she got out of our bed already, I want my own space back.

Here are some cute photos of my little princess Sarah.

The crying photo represents what she looks like at 3:00am when she won't sleep, but I still love her not matter what.

Sarah is growing

Sarah just went to the doctor today and she now weighs 8 lbs 4 oz and is 21 inches long. She definetly eats well.

Mom is quite sleep deprived as Sarah doesn't seem to know what night is yet. I can sleep almost anytime, anywhere it seems these days.

Here are a few cute photos of Sarah. The one with the donation sticker on her forehead reflects how I feel at 3:00am when she's awake.

Baby Sarah is 1 week old

I finally feel well enough to sit at the computer and put up a post. It's been a rough week since I delivered baby Sarah. I am sure that our next child will be a few years away after this, didn't expect the recovery to be so rough. My parents and sister have been great about coming over and helping in whatever way they can. This week, we had four days where people from church brought over meals, again very much appreciated as taking care of Sarah on my own was enough to do in the day.

As the title says Sarah is now officially a week old. I am definetly looking forward to getting out of the house more again. I love my little princess and her daddy definetly loves her too. Here is some new photos of the little one.

The Big Day has arrived

So no more jokes with little snickers. Our baby made its appearence earlier today.

Mom and baby are doing great. I have attached a few pictures from today but i am sure there will be many more posted in the next few days.

Baby Snickers little joke

Well, we had another trip to the hospital last night, but alas no baby yet. The contractions were painful but it's only early labor. Hopefully this little child decides to come soon.

So baby Snickers got the last laugh on that one, making mommy and daddy go out in that nasty weather.

In other news, we're currently looking at getting a mini-van to replace Darren's car. It will be nice to have air conditioning in the summer( something we both have not had yet!).

Hopefully soon, there will a posting that the baby is here. Until then, I sit at home and wait.

no more dirty rug

So with the little snickers on the way i finally decided to get rid of the rug thoughout the hallway, living room, and dining room. The change is remarkable, those of you who have been here before will be able to see by the pics. It makes the room so much bigger and also cleaner.

The floors are a bit dirty, eventually i will try to clean it and make it good but it good use a good sand and a refinish.

38 weeks

Well, I am now 38 weeks. Hard to believe time is going by so fast. Here's the latest photo of my belly.

Officially done work

I am now officially done work as of yesterday. I don't think I could have worked any longer, after all, working until 37 1/2 weeks is pretty good, I think.

We had a power outage last night for about 5 hours, a very strange experience. So now it's just a a waiting game until little snickers decides it's time to come out and meet the world(hopefully sooner, than later!)

36 Weeks

Well, I am now officially 36 weeks along. Hard to believe that in a month, I'm going to have a baby. I'm working for 6 more days and then I'm off. Thanks goodness, because it's getting hard to keep working and have any energy left at the end of the day.

Once I finish work, I'm going to work on baby Snickers room, getting it organized.

Saturday, February 24, 2007

So with the baby on the way i decided i should get the hallway/living room/dining room painted.

As some you of you can remember it used to be a putrit pink, now the livingroom/dining room is a light brown(may be considered a beige) and the hallway is a darker brown.

Our Valentines supper

Last night, we went out to Pasta Lavista for our belated valentines supper. The food was great and it was nice to get out with Darren. Time is getting short where it will be just Darren and I around. Snickers will be here in about 5-6 weeks, yikes! We had to park a bit futher away last night(got to love downtown parking) so with work and then walking last night, my feet were quite sore when I got home and swollen. But that's all part of pregnancy and I can't wait to see our little child.

33 weeks

Time for an update on this blog. I am now 33 weeks, hard to believe that it's not that much further to go. Things are starting to get harder to do sometimes, when the belly gets in the way. Sleep is definetly hard to come by when you wake up 3-5 times a night to go to the bathroom! But, I suppose that is preparing me for when little snickers makes it's appearance and needs to eat.

Darren is getting excited for the baby too, we start prenatal classes this Wednesday. SHould be interesting and something new to do.

Just an update

Well, so far so good with the baby. I had another doctors appointment and only a few minor issues are coming up, nothing out of the ordinary.

It's scary to think that in 8 weeks or so I'll be a mother! The reality of the whole situation is starting to set in now, but I'm sure I'll learn fast enough what to do. The crib is now up and at some point we'll have to get the rest of the baby stuff from my parents place in Morris.

Baby Snickers update

Well, baby snickers will be 30 weeks old on Monday. Time has gone by quickly. Darren is currently working on the floor in the baby room, and hopefully next week, we'll start putting up the crib and bringing in the baby stuff from Morris. My last day of work is going to be March 7th, putting me at 37 1/2 weeks, as long as baby cooperates with that. Baby Snickers likes to stick it's foot out my right side for the past week, especially when I want to sleep! This child is definetly healthy and active.

27 weeks

Baby Snickers is definetly growing now. I am 27 weeks and officially in my third trimester. This last week, there was has been lots of movement in my belly with the baby kicking. It seems like almost everytime I rest or sit down, the baby starts to move. I know it's definetly healthy

Christmas 2006

Here is some photos from our christmas gatherings. It was fun getting together with family and enjoying a last christmas before little "Snickers" arrives. We had a gathering on the 17th and on the 26th. Darren and I enjoyed four days off from work together, very relaxing.
